Anemophily is the transfer of mature pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of the pistil which takes place through the agency of wind. Examples: maize, coconut palm, etc. Anemophilous flowers produce a large number of pollen grains to ensure pollination.

Pomology is a branch of botany that deals with the study of fruits and its cultivation. It mainly focuses on the enhancement, cultivation, and physiological studies of fruit trees. It includes planting, harvesting, storing, processing and marketing of fruit crops.

The pericarp is the outer thick wall of the fruits. The function of the fruit wall is to provide protection to the seed. Pericarp has three layers, the outermost layer, epicarp, the middle layer mesocarp, and the inner layer endocarp that surrounds the seeds.
