The government of India has taken many measures to bridge the inequality between men and women. Here are some of them:
I. The government has set up Anganwadis or childcare centres in several villages, to help women go outside and work. The working women can drop their children here and can go to work without being worried.

II. The government has made it mandatory for organisations having more than $30$ women employees to provide creche facilities. This way there are more job opportunities available for women.

III. The government has also reserved thirty-three percent of panchayat posts for women.

IV. A law has also been passed making domestic violence a punishable offence.

V. According to the Hindu Law of Inheritance Act, $1929$ , the father's property is equally distributed among his children and wife.

VI. The Union Government launched a scheme called "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" in January $2015$ . It aims at encouraging the birth of girl child and education of girls.
