Radio waves are electromagnetic waves that are used for wireless internet. Charged particles undergoing acceleration generates radio waves. In Wi-Fi, radio waves are used to transmit information between our device (mobile phone, laptop etc.,) and a router via frequencies. According to the amount amount of data being sent, two radio wave frequencies are used which are $2.4$ gigahertz and $5$ gigahertz. In a vacuum, radio waves travel at the speed of light. In the Earth's atmosphere, the air is thin enough that the radio waves move very close to the speed of light. Because of their long wavelength and desirable transmission qualities, radio waves are more commonly used for communication than other electromagnetic waves. Radio waves are able to pass through the atmosphere and most building materials and can bend around obstacles due to diffraction. Unlike other electromagnetic waves, radio waves tend to be scattered rather than absorbed by objects.
