A typical flower consists of different parts arranged as separate whorls, of which the outermost whorl is the calyx. It is made up of sepals. In most of the plant, it is green in colour. The sepals are either free or united in a flower. If the sepals are united, the condition is known as the gamosepalous condition. Example: Hibiscus

Stamen represents the male reproductive organ called androecium, which consist of a stalk or a filament and an anther. The number of stamens is different in different flowers. The anther is the top part of the stamen that produce pollen grains. Pollen grains are the male gametophytes of the angiosperm that bear two male gametes.

A flower arises at the axil of a leaf-like structure called bract. Since bracts are large structures of vivid colours, they are often mistaken for petals. This serves to attract insects, hence, helps for pollination. Bracts also vary from leaves in the foliage. They may be smaller, more significant, or of a colour, form, or texture different.
