Differences between true solution, colloidal solution and suspension are as follows:

True Solution Colloidal Solution Suspension

It is a homogeneous mixture of solute and solvent. It appears to be homogeneous but actually it is a heterogeneous mixture of solute and solvent. It is a heterogeneous mixture.

The solute particles are very small i.e., less than $10^{- 9} m$ . The solute particles are between $10^{- 9} m$ and $10^{- 7} m$ in diameter. The solute particles are quite large i.e., larger than $10^{- 7} m$ in diameter.

The solute particles do not show tyndall effect because it is dissolved completely and the particle size is very less which is not enough to scatter light. The solute particles are big enough to scatter a beam of light and thus show tyndall effect incase of colloidal solution. They may or may not show the tyndall effect.

The particles do not settle due to gravity. Eg: Alloys, alcohols in water, $NaCl$ in water, etc.
