Advantages of sampling method over census method of data collection:

$1 .$ Study of a small part of a population is involved

In sampling method, a small part of the population can be studied to collect data. Whereas, in census method, the entire population is studied.

$2 .$ Large part of a geographical area can be covered in less time

Small samples of each area can be taken covering a large part in less time. Whereas, census method would take a lot of time to cover the entire population of any area

$3 .$ Less labour cost

Since, the sample is very small compared to the population, less labour cost is incurred in case of sampling method compared to the census method.

$4 .$ Can also be used for destructive objects.

Destructive objects like, blood samples have a close expiry date. Census method would take a lot of time to study them all. But, sampling method can be used to study them writing the time period of their expiry.
