(iii) She portrayed the rift in congress as the war between the pro-poor socialist party and the pro-elite rightist party.

(iv) The members of the congress were advised by the party authority to vote for Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, as he is the official candidate of the party. However, in the party elections, V.V. Giri won the elections and shook the foundation of the congress.

(v) As a result, the congress split officially, with Indira's faction getting the identity of a New-age congress.
