French Society:-

i) French society was based on three estates. King was at the apex of the social hierarchy. These three orders were clergy, nobility, and peasantry.

ii) The clergy group had their own land, they collected a tax named tithe from the peasants. Monks set up schools, colleges and hospitals in their own territory.

iii) Nobles were the owner of vast land. They were directly linked with the king. They enjoyed a privileged status. They had absolute power in their own territory. They could mint coins and use tenant peasants to cultivate their land.

iv) Many people in Early France were peasants. Free peasants had their own land. They had to pay a tax named Taille to the king. They also had to work for the lord.

v) Old French language was spoken in Medieval France.

Mesopotamia Empire:-

i) In the Mesopotamian empire, Sumerian languages were spoken.

ii) In Mesopotamia, King was at the apex of power and then nobility and clergy were in the second position of social hierarchy. They were the wealthier class of society. Craftsmen, merchants belonged to the middle class and were placed lower than the nobility and the priest. Servants and peasants, landless labourers were at the bottom of the social hierarchy.

iii) Cuneiform scripts were used as the writing system in Mesopotamia.

Roman Empire:-

i) In the early Roman Empire emperor was at the top of the social structure. He was followed by the wealthier community, common people, and slaves who were the lowest class.

ii) Latin was spoken in the Roman Empire.

iii) The Roman education system was based on the Greek education system.
