If anybody has high blood pressure, also called hypertension, it means the force of blood against blood vessels is higher than it should be. Hypertension can damage the heart and lead to heart disease, stroke, or chronic kidney disease. Heart attack: It occurs when not enough blood reaches the heart. It occurs due to artery blockage that supplies blood to the heart muscles. A person suffering from a heart attack experiences pain in the centre or left side of the chest that feels like mild or severe discomfort, shortness of breath, sweating, etc.

Blood clotting or coagulation is an important process that prevents excessive bleeding when a blood vessel is injured. Platelets or thrombocytes (a type of blood cell) and proteins in plasma (the liquid part of blood) work together to stop the bleeding by forming a clot over the injury.
