Endocrine glands are ductless gland that secretes chemical messengers called hormones directly into the blood. These endocrine glands are located in various parts of the body. Different endocrine gland with their location is given below.

Hypothalamus: It is the basal part of the diencephalon, located at the base of two thalami.

Pituitary gland: It is situated below the brain and remains within a small bony cavity (Sella turcica) of the sphenoid bone and attached by the pituitary stalk (infundibulum) with the hypothalamus.

Pineal body: It is a flattened cone-shaped gland attached by a short hollow stalk to the roof of the third ventricle of the brain.

Thyroid gland: It is located on either side of the roof of the trachea.

Parathyroid gland: These glands are situated at the posterior (backside) surface of each thyroid lobe.

Adrenal gland: These glands are situated at the upper pole of each kidney.

Pancreas: It is located behind the stomach in the upper left abdomen.

Testis: It is the male gonads, situated within the scrotum, present outside the body.

Ovary: It is the female gonad located on either side of the uterus within the broad ligament below the uterine (fallopian) tubes.
