These organs have developed as a result of divergent evolution. For example, the forelimb of humans and the wings of birds/bats are examples of homologous organs.

Analogous organs: The organs which perform the same functions in different species but have a different basic structure and embryonic origin are called analogous organs. These organs have developed as a result of convergent evolution. For example, the wings of the bat and the wings of the bird are examples of analogous organs. In birds, the fingers are reduced, and the wing is covered by feathers. In bat the fingers are elongated, and the wing is covered by patagium or fold of skin.
