Muscular force- Force applied with the help of muscles is called muscular force. For example, kicking of a football.

Gravitational force- The force applied by the earth to pull objects towards itself is called gravitational force. For example, an object thrown up eventually falls towards the ground due to gravitational force.

Mechanical force- The force applied by means of a machine is called mechanical force. For example, sewing machine, electric pump.

Electrostatic force- The force exerted by electrically charged materials is called electrostatic force. For example, when an inflated balloon is rubbed with a silk cloth and brought near small paper pieces, these paper pieces are attracted by the balloon. This is because static electricity is produced on the balloon that is rubbed with a silk cloth.

Force of friction- When two surfaces rub against each other, the force of friction comes into play. It always acts against the direction of motion. For example, when a ball is rolled on a floor, it stops after moving for a certain distance due to the force of friction.

Magnetic Force- The force exerted by a magnet is called magnetic force. For example, a magnet attracts an iron nail kept near it.
