The working of various organs such as liver, heart in a controlled and efficient way to produce a response to a stimulus is called coordination. The nervous system and hormonal system work together for control and coordination of complex, multiple organ systems in humans.

The nervous system receives the stimulus from the surrounding environment and sends the messages in the form of electrical impulses to the spinal cord and brain through sensory nerves. Further, the motor nerves transmit the information to an effector. Effectors are muscles and glands of our body. The hormones which are secreted by endocrine glands are directly or indirectly controlled by the nervous system.
