Principle of Bio-gas :

The mixture of methane, hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen is used to produce natural fuel or gas. Cow dung is mainly used in this process.

Construction and working of Bio- gas :

Biogas is produced from organic material. It breaks this down with the help of bacteria in an anaerobic environment. The anaerobic digestion process is a natural process which occurs in nature. In a biogas plant, this process takes place in the presence of an anaerobic digester and is accelerated by creating the best conditions for micro-organisms and bacteria to multiply, which leads to a highly efficient breakdown in case of the materials. All forms of organic material are used to produce biogas. Wastewater, manure, energy crops and organic industrial waste are the most common feed stocks. The biogas plant is built in the shape of a dome. Food waste, fats, sludge, cow dung, and other organic materials are combined with water and given to the digester through the input. The digester is a sealed chamber where organic matter is decomposed anaerobically.
