Draw any $\Delta \mathrm{XYZ}.$ Take a point $\mathrm{O}$ in its interior. Draw a perpendicular from $\mathrm{O}$ to $\overline{\mathrm{XY}},\overline{\mathrm{YZ}}$ and $\overline{\mathrm{XZ}}$.

Draw a $\mathrm{\Delta DEF}$. Draw the angle bisector of each of its angles. What do you observe? 

Draw $\overline{\mathrm{AC}}=2.9 \mathrm{cm}$. Then draw  $\overline{\mathrm{AD}}=\frac{1}{2}\overline{\mathrm{AC}}$.
