The Vindhyachal Thermal Power Station in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh is the largest among them. Some others are Mundra Thermal Power Station in Gujarat, Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant in Madhya Pradesh, Tiroda Thermal Power Plantin Maharashtra and Talcher Super Thermal Power Station in Odisha. The reason these power plants are located at the respective places is the availability of coal for them. Each power plant have such mines around them.
