i - d A tortoise has a hard shell. Shell is made of a number of small bones. The hard shell of a tortoise is used by the animal to protect itself from other animals that might harm it. ii - a A deer has horns. These horns are present only in males and are used sometimes to attract their mates and sometimes to fight other animals as well. iii - b A porcupine has sharp quills. The quills are sharp points that are present on their back and tail, if another animal tries to attack a porcupine they cannot bite it because of the quills. iv - e A camel has a hump. The hump of the camel is the part of the camel that stores food in the form of fat. When the camel uses this fat, the size of the hump reduces. v - g A chameleon changes colour. The chameleon uses this ability to change its skin colour to match the surroundings to avoid being eaten by other others. vi - c An electric eel gives off electric shock. Eel uses this technique to protect itself from other animals trying to kill it by producing an electric shock to the person touching it. It also uses this ability to hunt as well. vii - f A giraffe has a long neck to eat the leaves of tall trees.
