For the electro-refining of copper, what is the cathode made up of?

In the electro-refining of copper, the cathode is made up of pure thin sheet of copper and the anode is made up of impure plate of copper and the electrolyte used here is aqueous copper sulphate solution.

Give a reason for the following. Conductivity of dilute hydrochloric acid is greater than that of acetic acid.

HCl is a strong electrolyte and hence it can dissociate completely in aqueous solution which make it a good conductor of electricity whereas acetic acid is a weak electrolyte and it partially dissociates into ions which makes it a poor conductor than dilute hydrochloric acid.
