The third whorl of the flower is composed of stamen, representing the male reproductive organ consisting of a filament and anther. Each anther is by bilobed which are attached at the back by a sterile band called connective and each lobe has two chambers, the pollen sacs. The part labelled A is pollen grain, which is a microscopic body that contains the male reproductive cell of a plant. The main role of pollen is to deliver male gametes (sperm) from the stamen of a plant to an ovule for fertilization of an egg, which then develops into a seed. The part labelled B is pollen sac which produces pollen grains which are male gametophyte containing the male gametes. The part labelled C is filament that is a slender, threadlike object, which functions by supporting the anther.
