The right atrium receives the deoxygenated blood from the body organs and forced it to the right ventricle. The left atrium receives the oxygenated blood from the lungs and forced it to the left ventricle. As a whole, the auricles transfer the blood from the auricles to the ventricles.

The right ventricle further transports the deoxygenated blood to the lungs through the pulmonary artery and the left ventricle transports the oxygenated blood to the body organs through the pulmonary vein. As a whole, the right ventricle needs to transfer the blood to the nearby lungs, and the right ventricle transfers the blood to the body organs. It can be concluded that the left ventricle requires more pressure to transport the blood compared to the right ventricle, therefore, the left ventricle has thick muscular walls for the supply of oxygen and nutrients, compare to the right ventricle.
