Agriculture transformed their lives. Eventually, they settled at a single location for a longer span of time as they began to cultivate crops.

Growing crops and harvesting them after a certain period required them to stay in one place. Hence, they started following a sedentary lifestyle.

So, they began building settlements near the rivers and other water sources which were near the cultivated fields. They also started crafting weapons from stone tools, and pottery in order to support their livelihood.

Hence, with the beginning of agriculture, domestication of animals for a variety of purposes, including food production also began.
