The human development approach, developed by Mahbab ul haq is often framed in terms of whether people or able to "be" and "do" desirable things in life. The freedom of choice is central - someone choosing to be hungry (as during a religious fast) is quite different from someone who is hungry because the country is in famine.
Give an example (other than the one given) to demonstrate the 'freedom of choice' explained above.
