Hibernation is the process of long winter sleep. Some animals like lizards, snakes, shrews, etc., go off to sleep in winters. They are quite active during summer and they store food as fat under their skin during summer which helps them survive in winter.

Camouflage is a defensive technique used by animals against their enemies. Some animals have colours, shapes or marking on their bodies that help them merge with their surroundings which makes it difficult for their enemies to see them in their surroundings. This ability of an animal to merge with its surroundings is called camouflage. A stick insect looks almost like a twig.

Decomposers are living things that eat dead or decaying plants and animals. They keep our earth clean. Fungi and bacteria are examples of decomposers.

Amphibians are animals that can live both on land and in water. They have limbs that enable them to swim in the water and move on land. They can breathe with their lungs on land and through the moist skin in water.
