One of the major sources of wastewater is domestic sewage from the houses. Wastewater from the kitchen sink flows into the drainpipe and moves into the sewage pipeline. This sewage pipeline forms a network of pipelines and the wastewater travels through these pipes joins the main sewerage. The junction of the sewerage from different homes of the street or lane has an opening, which can be used for maintenance of the sewerage by the personnel from the city corporation. This opening is called a manhole. Further, the wastewater flows to the main sewerage pipeline and goes to the wastewater treatment plant.
