Niche is the position occupied by the species in an environment. It refers to the occupation of the species in an ecosystem. Niche determines the survival, requirement for shelter and food, and its reproduction process a species.

Define stenothermal organisms.

The different physiological functions and geographical distribution of all organisms including both plants and animals are governed by the temperature conditions of that particular area and their thermal tolerance. The organism that can tolerate a narrow range of temperature are called stenothermal organisms. An example of the stenothermal organism is the polar bear that can survive only in the cold polar regions.

Define Brood parasitism.

When a few of the organism lays eggs in the nest of different other birds and allow the other birds to incubate them, this is known as Brood parasitism. For example, a cuckoo bird lays its eggs in the nest of a crow, and during evolution, these cuckoo eggs look like the eggs of a crow.
