Forests are large areas on the land that comprises the flora and fauna of that habitat. The flora includes a variety of herbs, shrubs, trees, climbers, and creepers. The fauna includes a variety of wild animals and microorganisms. The vegetation of the forest is a source of different useful products. Moreover, the forest provides habitats for wildlife animals. Forests cover 31% of the global land area. Around 3.9 billion hectares of the land area of the earth is covered with forests. The forest cover in India is only 20% of its total land area.

Scavengers are animals that feed upon dead organism which is either being killed by any other organism or become dead due to some other reasons. Vultures, crows, foxes and hyenas are examples of scavengers. The scavengers help to keep the environment clean and release nutrients from the dead organic matter into the soil.
