No, we cannot say which among bacteria, spider, fish and chimpanzees have a better body design because evolution is not the process of replacement of a lower form of a life by another higher form. It is the process whereby natural selection and genetic drift have led to the formation of populations that cannot reproduce with the original ones.

Evolution cannot be compared with technological process wherein an old design is replaced by a new better design due to conscious human effort. It is a process of progressive change whereby complex body forms of living organisms emerged over a period of time, but the previous ones also continued to exist, though many forms failed to exist because of changed environment. In fact, one of the simplest life forms – bacteria – inhabit the most inhospitable habitats like hot springs, deep-sea thermal vents and the ice in Antarctica. In other words, human beings are not the pinnacle of evolution, but simply yet another species in the teeming spectrum of evolving life.
