Preparation of soil: It is done by ploughing and levelling the soil. Ploughing helps to loosen the soil.

Manuring and Irrigation: Plants requires nutrients and water for their growth. Hence, application of manures and fertilizers are very important in crop production. Proper supply of water is also very important.

Weeding and Protection from pests and disease: Pests are organisms that attack and damage crops. Disease also cause damage to the plants that is caused by bacteria, fungus and virus.
