(i) Iron doors and windows are made up of iron. But they are painted with oil paints to prevent them from rust.

(ii) Some parts of sewing machine are made of iron. The parts are coated with a thin layer of oil or grease, when they are not in use; to prevent them from rusting.

(iii) Cutlery is made up of steel; which is an alloy of iron. Steel was always used for more utilitarian knives, and pewter was used for some cheaper items, especially spoons.

(iv) Some surgical instruments and implantable devices are made up of surgical stainless steel.

(v) Cars are made up of iron i.e. steel an alloy of iron.
