Biotic factor — Animals

Environment is everything that is around us. It can have both biotic and abiotic elements. The living organisms are known as biotic factors and the non-living components are known as abiotic factors. Ecosystem is a community of living and non-living things that work together.

Sewage — Water pollution

Sewage is a liquid waste from domestic activities. It consists of kitchen wastes, toilet and other household wastewater. Sewage is released into the rivers and lakes and contaminate the water. It also adversely affects the health of aquatic organisms such as fishes.

Fertilisers — Land pollution

Chemical fertilisers help in faster and increased growth of crops. But their excessive use is harmful. This leads to soil pollution and also water pollution when these soil gets mixed in water resources.

Desert — Terrestrial ecosystem

Natural ecosystem is majorly divided into two types on the basis of their habitat. Aquatic ecosystems are ecosystems present in a body of water. These include freshwater ecosystem and the marine ecosystem. Terrestrial ecosystems are exclusively land-based ecosystems. These include forest ecosystem, grassland ecosystem and desert ecosystem.

Smoke — Air pollution

The air pollution is basically of two types: gaseous pollution occurs due to the burning of fossil fuels and particular pollution occurs due to the addition of harmful particles such as dust, smoke, etc.
