The adrenal medulla secretes adrenaline, noradrenaline, and dopamine.

Functions of the adrenal gland: The cortical hormones regulate various functions such as electrolyte balance, carbohydrate metabolism, protein catabolism, etc. The medullary hormones regulate physiological functions during emergency situations.

Hormones of testis: Testis is the male gonad that secretes hormones such as testosterone, inhibin, and oestrogen.

Functions of the testis: Testes is responsible for the production of sperms. Testosterone secreted from testes exerts its effects on the development of secondary sex organs, secondary sexual characters, muscular growth, etc. It also stimulates spermatogenesis. Inhibin secreted from Sertoli cells inhibits the secretion of FSH from the adenohypophysis. Oestrogen secreted from Sertoli cells stimulates the process of spermiogenesis.

Hormones of ovary: Hormones released from the ovary are oestrogen, progesterone, relaxin, inhibin, etc.

Functions of the ovary: Oestrogen secreted from the ovary helps in the development of female secondary sexual characters, exerts its effects on the sexual cycle, pregnancy, etc. Progesterone exerts its effects on secondary sex organs, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, etc. Relaxin is secreted in a small amount from the corpus luteum that facilitates the expulsion of the foetus from the uterus.
