(6)-(c) Cretinism is caused due to the lack of thyroid hormones in an individual's body. It is otherwise known as congenital hypothyroidism. The thyroid is an endocrine gland, located in the neck's anterior part, below the larynx. (7)-(j) Aldosterone causes water to be reabsorbed along with sodium. It also induces the potassium ion excretion through the nephron. This hormone increases blood volume and restores blood pressure. (8)-(e) Oxytocin is produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary. It plays roles in social bonding, sexual reproduction, childbirth, uterine muscle contraction, and milk release. (9)-(g) ACTH stimulates the adrenal cortex for the secretion of a glucocorticoid called cortisol. The cortisol mediates several functions such as response to stress, regulation of metabolism, inflammatory and immune response, etc. (10)-(d) Prolactin is the hormone that helps the body in making breast milk when a female is pregnant or breast-feeding.
