The practice of keeping and breeding of useful animals which provide meat and egg is termed poultry. Example chicken, domestic fowl, ducks, geese, guinea fowl and turkey. These birds are kept and feed properly to get their meat or egg. The poultry birds need proper feed and place to reside. They are given feeds like grains, wet mixtures and green food. They are given grit too for grinding the food. Limestone is given in their food which helps in making the shell of the egg. Egg-laying hens need lots of water.
