Moon is the only natural satellite of our planet. It revolves around the earth in its orbit. The thin, outermost layer of the earth is called the crust. It consists of hard rocks and soil. Mountains, sea, rivers, trees are all present on the crust. When the sun is hidden by the moon totally, it is called a total solar eclipse. Some parts of the earth have a shadow for a few minutes. A solar eclipse happens on a new moon day. The inner mantle consists of molten rocks called magma. It is the second layer of the earth below the crust.
