When the resistors R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are connected in parallel, the equivalent resistance is given by, 1 R p = 1 R 1 + 1 R 2 + 1 R 3 Here, the main current divides itself into different currents flows through each resistor. This means that, the currents in a resistor is inversely proportional to its resistance. The potential difference across each resistor is the same and is equal to that across the combination.
