The cell wall of collenchyma is irregularly thick at the corners due to the deposition of extra cellulose. (e)-(v) The sclerenchyma cells are considerably thick-walled and lignified. They lose the protoplast and ability to divide after maturity. Thus, they become permanent tissue.
