On the basis of the above information, answer the following questions:

If she had not bought bangles, then what fraction of the total amount would she have spent? Also find what fraction of the total amount she would have taken home.

Note: Write the fraction in its reduced form.

From the given information,

Whole amount which was spent by Rita is amount spent on a T-shirt, a pair of shoes, Sunglasses, Bangles and Juice $= ₹ 600 + ₹ 730 + ₹ 450 + ₹ 200 + ₹ 70 = ₹ 2050$

If Rita had not bought bangles, then the total amount spent on other things except bangles is $₹ 2050 - ₹ 200 = ₹ 1850$

Fraction $= \frac{Amount Rita spent on other things except bangles}{Amount Rita spent in total}$

Fraction $= \frac{1850}{2050}$

Reducing the fraction by taking the HCF of $1850$ and $2050$ which is $50$ .

$\frac{1850}{2050} = \frac{1850 \div 50}{2050 \div 50} = \frac{37}{41}$

Hence, the fraction of total amount spent on other things except bangles is $\frac{37}{41}$ .

The fraction of the amount Rita would have taken home that is the amount spent on Bangles $=$ $\frac{200}{2050}$ .

Reducing the fraction by taking the HCF of $200$ and $2050$ which is $\begin{array}{l} ・ A T-shirt: ₹ 600 & ・ A pair of shoes: ₹ 730 & ・ Sunglasses: ₹ 450 \\ ・ Bangles: ₹ 200 & ・ Juice: ₹ 70 \end{array}$ .
