Explain- Biosphere reserves. (diagrams not necessary)

Biosphere reserves are the protected areas meant for the conservation of plants and animals. They are aimed to conserve the biodiversity and the natural habitat. There are 18 Biosphere Reserves in India established by the government that protect large areas of natural habitats. Biosphere reserves are divided into 3 zones: 1. Core zone (Protected zone) where no human activity is allowed. 2. Buffer zone (Second most zone) surrounds the core area. Only a little human activity is allowed in which limited access permits to local people for the gathering of resources like timber procurement can be done in this zone 3. Transition zone (Outermost part and also called zone cooperation) This zone is also known as the manipulative zone and is the outermost part of the biosphere reserve.
