A line segment is a portion of a line that has fixed end points and fixed length but no width or thickness. It is named by two capital letters marked on its end points. Therefore, the line segments in the above figure are $R P, R T, P T, R U, P S, Q T$ . Thus, there are six line segments in the above figure.

When two or more lines cross each other in a plane, they are called intersecting lines. The intersecting lines share a common point, that exists on all the intersecting lines. Such points are called the point of intersection.

Therefore, in the above figure we can observe that $O$ is the point of intersection. So, there is only one point of intersection.
