The difference of radii of two circles is

and the sum of their circumferences is

. Calculate the radii of the circles.

We have,

The difference of radii of two circles is $3 c m$ and the sum of their circumferences is $44 c m$ .

Let the radii of two circles be $R$ and $r$ ,

Then,

$R - r = 3 c m$ ...............(i)

And, $2 πR + 2 πr = 44 cm$ (circumference of a circle $= 2 πr$ )

$2 π (R + r) = 44$

$2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times (R + r) = 44$

$R + r = 7 c m$ ................(ii)

Adding equation (i) and (ii), we get,

$2 R = 10$

$R = 5 c m$

Now putting this value in equation (ii), we get,

$5 + r = 7$

$r = 2 c m$

Therefore, the radii of the circles are $5 c m$ and $2 c m$ .
