Environment is the sum total of all the living and non-living factors and conditions that surround us. It is derived from the French word 'Environ" which means to surround. It is made up of non-living elements such as lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.

The crust is the outermost solid layer of the earth. It is also termed the lithosphere. It is also referred to as the crust. The top layer of the lithosphere comprises a variety of rocks and useful minerals. The crust is the thinnest of all layers. It accounts for less than 1 % of Earth's volume.

The water cycle is the continuous process of evaporation and condensation of water. Water evaporates from the earth's surface and results in cloud formation. The clouds get cooled and fall again to the surface of the earth in the form of rain. This involves the continuous circulation of water in the Earth-atmosphere system.
