P^H Is a measure of how acid or alkaline a solution is. Some enzymes work best in acid conditions and others work best in neutral or alkaline conditions.
The pH of a solution affects the shape of an enzyme. Most enzymes are their correct shape at pH $40 °$ That is neutral. If the pH becomes more acidic or more alkaline the enzymes are denatured.

In the given diagram, the enzyme Q has an optimum ph of about $6$ . Each enzyme has an optimum pH range. Changing the pH outside this range will slow enzyme activity. The enzyme Q works best at pH $6$ But as the pH increases beyond this, the enzyme Q starts to lose its shape. The active sites no longer fit perfectly with the substrate. The enzyme is said to be denatured. It can no longer catalyze the reaction.
