The compressibility factor is defined as the ratio of the actual volume to the volume predicted by the ideal gas law at a given temperature and pressure. Compressibility factor of a gas is given by, Z = pV nRT For ideal gas pV = nRT . Hence the value of compressibility factor Z will be equal to 1 .
