Rh factor is an antigenic protein present on the surface of the red blood cells. It was first discovered on the red blood cells of the Rhesus monkey so named Rh factor. It is also known as the D antigen. The person having Rh factor on RBC is known as positive Rh and if it is absent called as Rh-negative. It plays important role in blood transfusion. It is associated with Erythroblastosis fetalis in newborns, which is a haemolytic disease.

Malaria is caused by Plasmodium protozoa. It is transmitted from one person to another by the female Anopheles mosquito bite. Infected mosquito transfer sporozoites in human blood during blood sucking. These sporozoites reproduce asexually through the fission (schizogony) in RBC and liver cell. This phase is known as schizont.
