Manure is organic matter that is used as organic fertilizer in agriculture. Manures contribute to the fertility of soil by adding organic matter and nutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorous, etc. Manure is obtained naturally by the decomposition of dead plants and animals.

Weeds are the unwanted plants which grow along with the main plants and compete with water, minerals, nutrients etc. Weedicides or herbicides are traditionally used commercially by farmers to maximize their crop production by eliminating or reducing weed populations amongst their crops. The removal of weeds is useful because these unwanted plants compete with the crop for space, water and nutrients.

Weedicides are known as weed killers or pesticides that are used to kill unwanted plants. They are created to kill specific target plants while leaving the rest crop unharmed by its effect. They are widely used in agricultural practices for better productivity. These substances are sprayed over the field, and they selectively kill only the weeds. 2,4-D (2,4-dichloro phenoxy acetic acid) is one example of weedicides.
