Companion cells - They are small and nucleated cells which are closely associated with the sieve tube elements. They are involved in providing metabolic support to the sieve tube elements, such as supplying them with energy and nutrients needed for transport.
Phloem parenchyma - They are thin-walled cells which are involved in storage and other metabolic processes. They help to support and maintain the phloem tissue.
Phloem fibres - They are long and slender cells which provide structural support to the phloem tissue. They help to protect the tissue from damage.
