1. (c) Diarrhoea is a stomach disorder in which a person loses an excess amount of water to overcome from such conditions, doctors advise taking ORS. ORS stands for an oral rehydration solution . It is a mixture of clean water, salt, and sugar which is absorbed in the small intestine and replaces the water and electrolytes lost through faeces and helps the person to overcome the gastrointestinal (stomach and intestine) disorder. 2. (b) The pancreas is a digestive gland. It secretes pancreatic juice (pancreatic amylase, and pancreatic lipase) in the small intestine for the digestion of carbohydrates and fats. Besides this, the pancreas also secretes insulin hormone which maintains the blood glucose level. 3. (d) Hydra is a simple microorganism that contains tentacles for the capturing of the blood. These surround the mouth. 4. (e) There are two types of amylase enzymes secreted by the two different organs of the alimentary canal. The mouth secretes salivary amylase and the pancreas secretes pancreatic amylase. Both the enzymes break down the starch into its simple form. 5.
