(i) - (b) Transpiration is the process in which the plants lose water in the form of water vapour through tiny openings called stomata. (ii) - (d) The transport system in vascular plants are called xylem and phloem. Xylem transports water and minerals from roots by a process called passive transportation. (iii) - (a) Root hairs are a thin hair-like outgrowth of an epidermal cell just behind the tip. Root hairs are present on the roots of the plant which helps in the absorption of water and minerals from the soil. (iv) - (c) The food moves from the leaves to all other parts of a plant including roots through the phloem. The food is prepared in leaves by the process of photosynthesis and it is transported to all parts of the plant in form of glucose and this process is termed translocation.
