When an object is acted upon by a force, its position is changed. If the force acts on the object in such a way that the object keep moving to-and-fro which can be observed easily, then this kind of motion of the object is called oscillatory motion or simply, oscillation.

Larynx is human body part which is located at throat. This part is responsible for producing sounds in human. Two muscle tissues are attached to the larynx in the form of a slit. Due to the passage of air through it, the vocal cords vibrate and produce sounds. The vocal cords are shorter in case of women and children than men.
