AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a retroviral disease. This virus weakens the immune system of the body. It attacks lymphocytes present in the body. The weak immune system is highly inclined to several infections. It generally gets transmitted by unprotected sex, blood transfusions or the use of needles infected person.

It can be prevented in the following ways:
1) People should be educated and spread awareness about AIDS.
2) Razor blades or needles should be sterilised before use.
3) Blood transfusions should be monitored.
4) Female condoms which are unravelled in the vagina during sex can also protect against HIV. So make sure to use a condom every time during sex. Don’t forget to keep condoms in a cool place and check the expiration date before use.
